Investor disclosures

Key information every client should read before investing in global markets through Jaypee GAP. Full policy documents are provided during onboarding.

Risk factors relating to investments in global markets

Investments in global financial markets are subject to various risks, including market risk, currency risk, interest rate risk, liquidity risk, settlement risk, custody risk, technology and cyber security risks, geopolitical developments, taxation, regulatory changes, and other risks associated with international investing. The value of investments and the income from them can go down as well as up, and you may not get back the amount invested. Investors are advised to carefully read the applicable risk disclosure statement before making any investment decision.

Roles and responsibilities

  • You (the investor) remain the beneficial owner of your investments and are responsible for your investment decisions and for compliance with FEMA / LRS requirements applicable to you.
  • Jaypee GAP onboards clients, performs KYC / AML checks, routes orders and client funds, and provides disclosures, reporting and client support under IFSCA regulation.
  • Regulated foreign broker(s) execute orders on global exchanges in compliance with the rules of their jurisdiction.
  • Global exchanges and their clearing houses match, clear and settle trades under their own rules.

Account structure and custody

Client funds for global access are received into a segregated clients' bank account maintained with an International Banking Unit in the IFSC, separate from Jaypee GAP's own funds. Securities are held through the custody arrangements of the regulated foreign broker(s). Details of the custody arrangements and account structure applicable to your account are provided in your onboarding documents.

Fees and charges

Brokerage, entry and exit fees, fund withdrawal charges, account transfer charges, account closure charges, the IFSCA turnover-based regulatory fee and any other charges are disclosed in writing at the time of onboarding. Jaypee GAP undertakes that no charge other than what is disclosed will be collected from the client. Any fee or remuneration associated with a referral arrangement is also disclosed.

Investor protection and dispute resolution

The rights of investors or investor protection, dispute resolution mechanism and investor grievance redressal mechanism of the recognised stock exchanges in the IFSC are not available to clients for global access. Any investor protection scheme or insurance coverage that applies through the foreign broker or foreign exchange is set out in the onboarding disclosures.

Taxation

The tax implications of overseas investments may vary depending on the investor's residential status, the nature of the investment, and applicable tax laws, including Tax Collected at Source (TCS) on LRS remittances, withholding tax on dividends in the foreign jurisdiction, and capital gains tax in India. Investors are encouraged to seek independent tax advice before investing.

Trading information and profit & loss

Trading-related information, including the methodology used for calculating profit and loss on client positions, contract specifications, trading hours and settlement cycles of each market, is provided through the trading platform and onboarding documents.

Corporate announcements

Corporate actions, company announcements and issuer disclosures for securities listed on international exchanges are published by the respective exchanges. See our Corporate Announcements page for direct links.

Regulatory requirements of the foreign jurisdiction

Trading on a foreign exchange is subject to the laws, regulations and market rules of that jurisdiction, including position limits, reporting obligations and market conduct rules. Jaypee GAP and its foreign broker(s) may restrict or decline access to products or markets where required by the regulations of the IFSC, of India or of the foreign jurisdiction.

Complaints and grievances

Jaypee GAP maintains a complaint handling and grievance redressal policy in line with IFSCA's circular of 2 December 2024. Clients may write to client@jaypeeifsc.com. Details of the grievance redressal officer and escalation process are provided at onboarding and on the Contact Us page.

Policy documents. After submitting the account opening form and the required documents, clients are provided with the applicable disclosures and other relevant policy documents as part of the onboarding process. Clients are advised to carefully read, understand and retain these documents for future reference.
